OLIVER ROAN 1 MONTH OLD!!!

Wow where did the time go??? It seems like just yesterday we brought him home from the hospital and a month has already gone by! It makes me so sad to think that that we won't have that time back. I don't feel like we have taken enough pictures and captured so many firsts on camera! Maybe b/c the only camera we have right now is our large SLR so it is safely kept away and not easy to keep at my side. Oh well we were in survival mode going from 1-2 has been tough. Ollie is very demanding and quick tempered! He doesn't like to be messed with or put down at all and doesn't sleep unless it is on my lap! He weighs right around 9lbs right now and eats all day long. He still is a skinny tiny guy though wearing premie clothing !
His eyes are definety going to be blue like Leighton and Than, not green like mine. He is using a pacifier now to help comfort himself, so its nice when this does work and its getting better. He has started smiling at us and is much more alert/aware of his surroundings. Overall he is an adorable child needy...but we love him and are so happy to have him!

This outfit is my favorite it is one of 3 that fit him now, its a premie size but fits well.
I love this picture he is sleeping so peacefully in his bouncy seat.

Oliver's Bathtime

These are the first bath pictures of Oliver we have taken. He is almost a month old in these ;( It has been hard to adjust to life with two, but mainly b/c Oliver has a very hot temper and is very demanding/picky! He is the tough one we can tell. Everytime we bathed him we forgot the camera! So here they are finally some bath pictures of Ollie, it makes me very sad to have not captured the first bath pictures but I can't beat myself up about it, I was running on very little/almost none...sleep.

Just like any other time you mess with him he hates bathtime and screams for mercy.

STARWARS and BATHTIME

Than and I bought these in Nyc for Leighton, they are his "Guys" for the shower. He still loves bathtime and goes crazy when he gets to take and actual bath instead of a shower. Our little water bug!

Starwars and breakfast!

We have recently added some Star wars toys to Leighton's toy collection. He is really loving playing with little figures so these Star wars sets were great! His pretend play/imagination is really taking off! I am loving all the sounds he makes and how he plays with his "Guys" he calls them all "Guys" so cute!! I love finding special cool boy toys for him that he will just love! These were a hit! Nothing says cool little boy like Star Wars right??? WE do spoil him but we love playing with cool toys just as much!

What a handsome face!!

MOTHER'S DAY 2009

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Mother's day is so special its the day that reminds me how lucky I am to be a mom! Being a Mom was the only thing I knew I wanted to do with my life and I am so blessed to have two darling lil boys to carry out that dream! It is the most rewarding job a person could ever have and I am so lucky I get to do it everyday!

I got to sleep in that day while Than helped Leighton make me this card! Its the best gift and yes I did cry!

I hope everyone had a great Mother's day!

Old man faces!

Both Oliver and Leighton were born with perfect little faces...(not to brag) but they both came so quickly that their tiny little faces didn't get all squashed during delivery. I am biased.... so neither one ever went through that old wrinkly man face period. Well late one night while we were doing dishes Oliver decided to start making the funniest old man faces! I was laughing so hard he was bouncing in the ergo it was too funny. I wanted to put so many pictures up but couldn't all his different expressions were adorable and hilarious! This was the first time we were able to get pictures of him with his eyes open and alert without screaming like a banshee!

I picked the best few and here they are....

The blank stare...
The Hi Dad. cute face!
The mom stop laughing b/c you are going to shake me outta this carrier grumpy face!

The Zone out wow thats my mommy person she is warm and takes care of me face...

All of these faces show how much brighter his hair is getting and how super crazy it looks right after a bath.

MORE FUN ON THE STRAWBERRY FARM

Leighton was a natural strawberry picker, he did not discriminate he picked every berry ripe or not. He ate half of what he picked stem and all and I felt guilty until I saw that the little goats had wandered into the patch and were helping themselves also. If the little goats could do some grazing i guess Leighton could too!
These goats were the cutest thing they were Norweign dwarf goats and I would love them as a pet if we had the space! I liked them even more than Leighton did! They were only a little bit bigger than Boudreaux! I wanted to take one home so bad...maybe someday!
Leighton was very kind and shared a strawberry with his new goat pal!
This picture is so cute...what wasn't was the mud puddle at the bottom of the slide that Leighton ended up in! The car ride home was a diaper only ride!

Strawberry Picking

On the first nice weather day in 3wks we took full advantage. We decided to go strawberry picking! Southern Comfort Berry farm is located about 20 minutes from our house so it was a quick trip to get some great fresh strawberries right off the vine. It is basically a house with a small berry field and some animals! It was a nice fun trip out of the house!

Than and Leighton worked together to pick most of our berries. Oliver rode in the ergo the whole time so it was hard from me to pick but I did pick a good amount also! The rain had ravaged the plants but there were still some good berries to be picked.

Our rubber boots were key since the place was so muddy it has been so nice to have them around here I think I couldn't live w/o them!
Altogether we picked just over 2lbs from two different varieties of strawberries, my advice is to use them the day you pick them or freeze them! We were first timers and since the berries were so damaged by rain they went bad by 2days later...we didn't get to eat all of them. Oh well we know for next time!

Leighton's first pet!

In the spirit of "when life throws you lemons make lemonade" we embraced our rainy wet weather to go searching for frogs! It rains so much here that we often feel stuck inside with nothing to do. After days of raining and on a clear evening we went on a walk searching for frogs. We went all around our neighborhood and not a single frog just a bunch of mud then as we returned home there was one on our back door!! Can you believe it??

I scooped it up and put it in a bucket and Leighton loved it. He can say the word frog very well so was really excited and everytime he jumped Leighton would laugh so hard, it was hilarious!

He carried him around the yard in the bucket for a little while and then we had to go inside so we let him go!

Leighton was sad to say goodbye and didn't seem to understand why the frog was eager to get away so fast...ah the simple things!

After we came indoors I scrubed my hands like a crazy person some how later when I went to take out my contact lenses I had the most intense burning reaction in my eyes! That will be the last gross slimey frog I pick up..from now on I will stick to toads! LOL!

BORN TO RIDE....ALMOST!

After watching all the two year olds in our neighborhood ride around on their actual bicycles we thought maybe we should give leighton a lesson on his tricycle. I really want him to ride the tricycle first and not go straight to the bike like it seems alot of kids around here have done. Two year olds without training wheels on a bike is crazy to me!! I love how cute and retro tricycles are and have always pictured him riding one around. He just wants a bike.. he isn't impressed with his trike at all ;( The grass is always greener I guess. Even though we are making an attempt bought him this nice trike and are hopeful.

He has enjoyed sitting on it for months indoors with cold weather outside and we have just been waiting for a chance to go outside and try it out! A friend of ours taped her kids feet to the pedals so he could learn, this was a great idea and so we borrowed it;) Leighton wasn't thrilled being taped to his trike, but it did help alot. He knows he needs to push but his feet would slip off as the pedal came around. The tape helped with this alot and all he had to focus on was the strength to push the pedals, mom and dad helped steer for now ;) We went around the large circle in front of our house its big and slopes up some so it was challenging but he did ok and by the end just before the meltdown he did pedal by himself for a little way. Small progress but still progress.

His spiderman helmet was key and he knows now that whenever you ride a bike you need a helmet. I sat on his tricycle in the house the other day being silly and he brought me his helmet and put it on my head..what a safe boy!

Pedaling by himself!

His Spiderman guy even rode along in the back basket!

Irish Twins!!!

ok well not really...but they look so much alike that its going to be hard to pic out who is who from baby pictures!!
These pictures don't even cover how much Ollie looks like Leighton's baby pictures. Oliver is hard to take pictures of he doesn't want to be messed with at all! But here are a couple of shots to compare how similar the features are. Either way we know we are going to have two very good looking redheaded boys on our hands!

Guess who is who and I will put answers at the bottom.
