LEIGHTON'S LATEST

Well it sure has been a while since i posted anything this lil dude is really keeping us very busy here. he is such a great eater all day most days but getting more and more efficent at it everyday. he really has grown so much in the last 3 weeks it really is amazing! a couple days ago i picked him up and i swear he gained a lb overnight. He has also started smiling this week it is adorable to see it i tear up everytime. He likes it when you tell him "Hi" with a big smile usually he will smile back and out comes his dimple! His eyes have gotten much brighter blue but we had a feeling they would, i always said that he would have Than's eyes. Our last dr. visit went very well we gained 17oz and 1" in two weeks so apparently he is getting plenty to eat. Also at our visit the dr. visit the dr. was shocked that Leighton can support weight on his legs, Than and I didn't realize what a big deal this was but apparently he is really ahead of the game when it comes to strength. His can stand against us for very decent periods of time and kicks and pushes off of us, we really can't turn our back at all. It really seems like he has better control in his legs than he does his head right now. We have also began drooling recently and he likes to lick everything which is strange but still really funny to watch, unless it is your face. He is sleeping with us b/c that is pretty much the only option and even then he keeps one hand on my chest just to make sure i can't get away. He definitely is independent and we are getting an idea of the temper he will have, he doesn't like help to latch while nursing and if i don't get it to him quick enough a huge tantrum errupts. He huffs and snorts and fusses while kicking and grabing to pull hair. all of this but i still think he is the best baby ever! He really is cool and it is so fun to watch this lil person and personality develop, even if it is frustrating at times for daddy and mama. The dogs are really handling their new lil brother very well as you can see he and buttercup are buddies. We are using alot of his baby gear now or atleast trying to but he is less than impressed with all the fancy things, like the swing and bouncer( all of these things would make life easier for mama and papa) but of course he is not interested. The picture of him in the bumbo seat i think he is praying i will get him out of it! Another highlight of his getting a little bigger is his super cute wardobe! We were very lucky to receive some nice handy downs from my cousin Tina that combine with mommy's love of shopping Leighton has a better closet than his parents. We are finally fitting into our new cute outfits( the gymmies pjs in the pic are Thans favorite), i take so much pleasure in getting him ready in the mornings an making sure everything matches and he is a sharp dressed little man. It is so silly but I love these new shoes i got for him and he wears them all the time, people always compliment them and then say they look so big! I laugh b/c i know they are a little large but his feet are very large also which people dont realize his feet grew a quarter of an inch in a week! like i said he is growing like a weed and we are trying to not miss any of it!

Happy Easter!

Well Happy Easter to everyone! We had a gross Easter day down here in texas but managd to make the most of it. it was fun for all visiting with family and hanging out. Leighton got a nice lil basket from the Easter bunny filled with goodies like books, outfits, lovies, and a special silver helicopter bank with his name and birthday engraved. We had his first pictures taken for Easter on last friday very cute he was such a good boy. He is just such a handsome boy who we can't get enough of, he is very well behaved and easy going. although seems to be getting very independent already. We hope everyone had a Happy day and that many baskets were filled with goodies!
